Chair introduced Rosemarie Munoz, Senior Executive Assistant to the Vice Chancellor for
Strategic Initiatives
Discussion and Feedback from Community Day Presentations
Sexual orientation activities to promote cultural understanding
Student’s activities that include ethnic and cultural days that include all groups at all
three campus
Training concerns
Demographics for populations discussions

Posting sites for Provost positions at Higher Ed Jobs, the Chronicle ad, Chronicle for Higher
Ed, career builder, Diversity sites, Interest to reach female candidates, Hispanic, many
others
Stephen Lopez is successful with diverse hiring, states that HR cannot dictate to faculty any
hiring practices
Affirmative action plan
Face to face recruitment, community, job fairs, efficient processes, attract a diverse
population
Position closes on April 7, Provost, to hire by May 15
IT will provide updated and improved recourse tools and three rooms for interviewing with
web services, advanced visuals for interviewing candidates
Cardenas will post mentioned documents on Bb
Handout of the Chronicle for Higher Ed magazine about the topic on diversity and hiring
will be handed out at the next meeting
