Mohonk Preserve By: Ainslee McMahan It was October 2, 2012. Our class went to Mohonk preserve. Mr. Savelsons class went on a steep hike to the hawk watch. Our class went to study about rocks, and more about geology. When our class went hiking, we got to see the beautiful view on the hills of Mohonk preserve. All of our classmates got soaked from head to toe. Our class got to see all of the Liken and algae growths on the trees and rocks. The rocks were very slippery but although, there were trees, plants, and twigs to grab onto. . Kate (the instructor) gave us a lot of information about courts conglomerate and shale in the mountains. The leaves on the trees were red, yellow, and green. Unfortunately, we didn’t actually go rock climbing but we did climb rocks. Over all it was the best field trip our class has ever been on!!!
