rocks that have been
broken off of igneous
or metamorphic rocks
through weathering
Characteristics:
smaller broken up
pieces of rock or sand
sometimes pressed
together
Volcanic activity forming igneous
rocks

occurring, inorganic
solid with a definite
chemical composition
and a specific
crystalline structure
