Researchers found out that traditional British activities like discussing the weather, enjoying fish and chips and drinking cups of tea are still at the top of everybody’s favourite list. There are several phrases we use when we want to ask about the weather: What's the weather like? / What's it like outside? / Is it raining? / Is it snowing? We use the past simple tense to talk about the weather in the definite time in the past: Was it rainy yesterday? No, it wasn’t.
