Please try to find 5 Short Talks and give your analysis of the questions.
After listening to the short talks, I divide it into under parts. Most of it will ask a
wh- question, like who, what, when and where. So when you listen to the article you
need to pay more attention to these kinds of information such as names, places, the
things they are going to do or the time. You can find most of the answers in the
paragraph. Sometimes it will give you some data and ask you to calculate it. If the
article is easy then you need to be careful cause there might have some trick in the
questions. Sometimes it will also ask what the paragraph is trying to tell you. For this
kind of question it will be different when you miss a word therefore you need to pay
attention to whole essay or you might chose the wrong answer. Another point is
listening carefully to the pronunciation it might put some similar words together and
confuse you.
Below are two short talks’ summaries and analyst of the questions. First one is a short
advertisement which is talking about medical insurance. It mentions about how much
it costs, some discounts, what the insurance has contain also how can ones get more
information. Following are the questions, answers and analysis of the questions for
this short talk.
1. Which type of benefit is not mentioned in the advertisement?
A. Chiropractic.
B. Optical.
C. Homecare.
D. Dental.
In the paragraph it says “we offer affordable dental, vision, prescription and
chiropractic benefit packages.” But it didn’t mention about the Homecare. So the
answer is C.
2. How much would it cost to cover a young couple who were living together?
A. $12
B. $19
C. $24
D. $31
The answer is B because when it mentions about the fee, it provides two plans.
One is for single; you need to pay $12 per month for one person. The other is the
entire household plan. You just pay $19 for all members in your house. And the
question has mentioned that they're a couple live together so they can use the
second way. So the answer is B.
3. How long has Cover You been a trust name?
A. For over four years.
B. For over forty years.
C. For over twenty years.
D. For half a century.
The answer is B. it says that Cover You has been a trusted name in health care
for over four decades.
Second short talk is about weather report. It will give you some weather information.
For example: temperatures, sunny or rainy. What might happened tomorrow.
Following are the questions, answers and analysis of the questions for this short talk.

B. Sunny in the afternoon.
C. Rainy with storms.
D. Warm and rainy.
The answer is A. “Tomorrow will be clear with light winds out of the north.”

The answer is C. Cause this is a weather report.
