Critical Leadership: Why traditional management techniques
are counter-productive in the modern workplace

Cost of event will be approximately $5,000
Kristy will see if we can get a list from SHRM as to which members
are certified.
Event to Benefit SHRM Foundation - Anyone have anything they
would like to move forward on.
Decision to do 50/50 raffle to benefit SHRM Foundation at Spring
Conference.
Day on the Hill – Update
Roundtable – February 25, 2015 – Mary Ellen Schill
Update on ACA IRS form 1094-B, 1095-B, 1094-C, and 1095-C –
Finalized and Employer Responsibility
Roundtable went very well – requested Mary Ellen to speak at June
11 meeting at revised time of 10:30 – 1:30 p.m. on same topic.
September 10 Chapter meeting idea: Partner with Wisconsin
Department of Veterans Affairs to have a panel educating employers
about veterans available to work and resources of where employers
can go for questions re benefits for veterans. Kristy will coordinate.
2015 SHAPE Document included – Updated through current
Reviewed draft of SHAPE document and events that would be
eligible.
Wills for Veterans – may be able to volunteer for assisting with this
effort, which could be included in SHAPE document.

Will add field to name badge template to include members’
certifications. Will also see if certification field can be added to
website member profiles pages.
Recognize members at April meeting who have completed their
SHRM certification.
New member Breakfast/Luncheon - Need to begin arrangements and
and notification to new members
Stephanie, Tanya and DeAnn will coordinate this. Discussed caterers,
location, and timing of meeting. DeAnn will determine date and get
e-mail out to new members. Tanya will get information on Event
Brite once date is determined. Chapter will not distribute gifts to new
members at this event.
Certification Credits for Chamber Event – Status and discussion
No certification credits will be provided at this event since this is not
a CWSHRM-sponsored event.
Community Foundation Speaking Opportunity – Non-profit group
looking for someone to provide some HR Best Practices on:
 Wage and Hour Laws
 Termination Process – Documentation
 Hiring Process – Background and reference checks
 Bonding Benefits
30 minute-presentation opportunity in June; please let Linda know if
you are interested in participating as a presenter or co-presenter.
Suggested that you may want Sara Ackermann’s input on your
presentation to be sure content is legally sound. Kristy and Krissy
may be interested in presenting.
Discussion on – Learning System issue that Kim brought up.
Decision to only provide the 50% discount to a member one time per
certification. Krissy will add a brief sentence to the policy regarding
this issue.
HR Blog Submission – Who will handle?
Social media requirement for WI SHRM State Council and part of the
$400 reimbursement aspect of State Council. Krissy has done these
in the past. Bob and Krissy will work on this. The first submission is
due March 1.
Change for March’s Board meeting date – March 25, 2015
DeAnn will take minutes as Darlyne is unavailable on the 25th.

Discussed having membership drives at March meeting and April
Conference – suggested $25 discount if they sign up for membership
that day. Can use this as a membership initiative for SHAPE. Kristy
will create a form that provides the details for potential members as to
their savings along with member benefits document to be handed out
at these two events.
