MEMBERSHIP ENGAGEMENT & RETENTION DIRECTOR Position Summary: Serves as an appointed member of the chapter board of directors. Build chapter membership by encouraging member engagement through implementation of recruitment/retention initiatives, which result in a fully involved and active membership base. Category: Standing Committee Chair – Chapter Services Responsible To: The members of the chapter The chapter Vice President of Membership Responsibilities: Participate in the planning and development of member engagement and retention events. Make presentations to small groups of HR Professionals, local chambers and businesses about the benefits of SuncoastHR membership Track and report on the metrics for member engagement and retention strategies Provide a forum (meetings, conference calls, etc.) for membership committee to discuss any recent membership issues and share tips for successful recruiting/retention. Review monthly reports of delinquent/expired members and personally contact these persons to encourage renewal, or to obtain information that affected their non-renewal. Maintain statistics regarding reasons for non-renewals. Assist VP of Membership with sourcing members from the lists provided by SHRM of at-large members (SHRM members who are not members of any chapter) and who are located within SuncoastHR’s geographical reach. Mail/distribute membership materials, including applications, informational brochures at chapter and community events Assist with member surveys as requested. Carry out ad hoc assignments as requested by V. P. of Membership that pertain to membership promotions, and special events, etc. Greet/check-in members/guests as they arrive and help ensure each new member is personally welcomed by the board and introduced at membership meetings. Stay informed of trends in the HR field and timely issues affecting members and communities Provide monthly updates to the Vice President of Membership before the monthly board meetings. Know and/or build personal knowledge of the Chapter and its governing bylaws. Abstain from activities that may appear to create a conflict of interest; follow the SuncoastHR Code of Conduct. Maintain confidentiality, as appropriate, of chapter issues and membership data. Attend a minimum of 10 monthly meetings and 10 board of directors meetings. Attend the HR Florida State Council’s Leadership conference. Participate in the development and implementation of short-term and long-term strategic planning for the chapter. Represent the chapter in the human resources community. Requirements: Must be an active member of the chapter for entire term of office. Must list chapter as primary chapter with SHRM. Shall not hold any other position on the board of another SHRM local chapter, without prior board approval.
