Technical name of the substance/chemical in the product
o
Should be written with full names instead of chemical formula or abbreviation.

Sodium Chloride, not NaCl; isopropyl alcohol instead of IPA

The database is both case and space sensitive
o
No additional information within the box about the chemical.
CAS #:
o
Must be written in proper YYYYYY-XX-X. The amount of numbers represented as Y can vary, the X will not. The hyphens
used are required.

chemical that is identical across all manufacturers.
Location:

Should be written as a specific location within the lab room. The database is case and space sensitive,| Cabinet1,
cabinet1, cabinet 1, Cabinet 1| will all be processed as separate locations.
Quantity:
o
Must be in numerical notation only (unit must be in a separate field) e.g. 100 grams should be “written” as 100 in
Quantity field and g in Unit field.
