Our Lady of the Rosary School Newsletter January 7, 2015 Trust in the Lord with All Your Heart Gospel Value: Courage For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29:11 Dear OLR Families, Happy New Year! This is a special time, inviting us to look back on the previous year and look forward to the new year ahead. As we look back on 2014, we contemplate on what brought us great joy. We also think of our loved ones and friends and all the happy memories and how each enriched our lives. The new year brings an exciting sense of renewal, recommitment and new horizons as resolutions are made and new opportunities are considered. It is a time that lends itself perfectly to reflection and prayer. The new year also provides us with a wonderful opportunity to renew and rededicate our lives to the Lord. The work of the Holy Spirit in the world, in the Church and in our own lives is always focused on renewal, reform and refreshment. God is the God of new things, the God of unexpected and exciting surprises. This is truly an exciting time to count our blessings and to renew our commitment to serve the Lord. We are about to celebrate National Catholic Schools Week starting on January 25-31. Our theme for this special celebration is “Catholic Schools: Communities of Faith, Knowledge and Service.” We will observe this weeklong event with Masses, Open Houses, Pancake Breakfast, Scholastic Book Faire, and other activities for our students, school families, guests, and parishioners. Through these events, we will focus on the value of a Catholic education and providing our young people with a holistic education. We invite you to attend all of the festivities and welcome everyone to learn more about Our Lady of the Rosary School.
