Child B’s attitude to learning has greatly improved due to the interventions given. Both children achieved the pass mark for the phonics check. The interventions ensured that all children made expected progress in all areas but Child A and C are performing below the national average for their age. Maths These children were taught maths from the new curriculum so the comparison of levels is not appropriate because the curriculum has become much broader. Teacher assessment indicates that these children have made at least expected progress. Reading All children made at least expected progress in reading. Writing Child A, B, and D made expected progress in writing and match the national average or above. Child C and E made less than expected progress but only child C remains below the national average. Maths These children were taught maths from the new curriculum so the comparison of levels is not appropriate because the curriculum has become much broader. Teacher assessment indicates that these children have made at least expected progress. All children made expected progress in reading and writing but child B and C are still below the national average. Teacher assessment indicates that these children have made at least expected progress. In all areas these children are on track to reach national averages apart from Child C who needs to make better than expected progress in writing and maths. Year 6 Child A Child B Child C Maths Child A made expected progress but was still below national average. Child B made better than expected progress and was above national average. Child C also made better than expected progress in line with national averages. Reading Child A made better than expected progress. Child B and C made expected progress. All 3 children reached level four. Writing Child A made better than expected progress. Child B and C made expected progress but child C was still below the national average. Most Pupil Premium children are making expected progress in all areas. Although some children are performing above national averages our aim is for a greater proportion of pupil premium children to achieve at this level.
