About the BITC Enterprise Campaign
Our ambition is for business to support the creation and growth of small & medium
enterprise in order to stimulate economic growth, create jobs and reduce social
deprivation.

The Enterprise Leadership Team under the Chairmanship of Stephen Leonard, Chair
of IBM UK, drives the Enterprise Campaign on behalf of BITC.
The Team
The Enterprise team consists of 7 BITC staff, together with 3 volunteers from our
business partners in some key roles.
The campaign is an intricate, complicated and extremely fast-moving with many
interdependencies and connections between our various activities, targets and
partnerships. Our programmes have formal partnerships with organisations in the
private, public, voluntary as well as the social enterprise and SME sectors. The
programmes are supported and led by business partners.
For all programmes, we will develop further partnerships nationally including
community, business and government. The successful maintenance of these
partnerships within a constantly changing environment will be critical to campaign’s
success.
The candidate will need to be flexible, hands-on and able to deal with this
complexity, and to take on new accountabilities and responsibilities as the
campaigns continues to grow.
Purpose of Job
The job holder will be responsible for the income generation, business development,
marketing and communications for the enterprise campaign. The income
requirement for the current activity plan in the next three years is £2.9m (a portion of
these funds have already been secured). As/if existing or new programmes or
campaigns are brought into the remit of the enterprise campaign and/or its campaign
director, the job holder will be required to develop and implement the strategy to
support these plans. Building, developing and maintaining strong relationships with
external and internal stakeholder is a key element of this role.
Main Responsibilities / Accountabilities:
Development Strategy
 Contribute to develop and deliver the income generation strategy for the
enterprise campaign
 Focus on corporate partnership as the core income generator but also
consider other sources such as trusts and foundations, high net worth
individuals, events and public sector contracts.
 Support the Programme Managers and Directors with business and financial
planning
Income Generation
 Build and deliver the income generation plan
 Identify opportunities and secure income generation
 Management, planning and delivery of income generation plan to agreed
targets
Relationship Management
 Establish relationship management programme with funding businesses that
can be delivered nationally
 Work with business partners and Programme Manager and Director to deliver
the corporates identified business objectives
 Work closely with arc and High Street Programme Managers to facilitate
business engagement projects and programmes with beneficiaries
 Lead the development of staff in the campaign with processes and delivery of
relationship management for its corporate partners
Marketing and Communications
 Lead on the development and implementation of marketing and promotional
strategy across the campaign to include:
o Advertising (on and offline)
o Events
o Communications materials
o Digital media – social media, website, email marketing
o Delivery of promotional strategy
o Recruitment of media and promotional partners – PR, marketing,
branding, BITC marketing and communications team
o Deliver against agreed KPIs for media coverage brand awareness
Stakeholder Management
 Build, develop and maintain strong relationships with key senior stakeholders
including public sector and business partners
Management
 Operational and budgetary support to the Enterprise and Culture Director
 Deputise for Enterprise and Culture Director as appropriate
 Line management of Head of Enterprise and Marketing & Communications
Manager
 Integration of the communications team by conveying a communications
group for the entire function
 Analytics for income generation and business development performance
Other
 Ensure that health and safety requirements are met in the areas for which the
jobholder is responsible.


Business in the Community offers employees 25 days annual leave each year, and
our holiday year runs from January to December. This rises on a sliding scale to a
maximum of 30 days after 10 years service.
Employees can also "buy" more holiday entitlement or "sell" days unused.

We operate a Group Personal Pension scheme, which employees can join after
three months' service. Business in the Community will contribute up to 5% of salary
providing the individual contributes a minimum of 2.5%.
