Spanish 102, 201, and 291. Studied Spanish grammar and vocabulary and read literature.
Latin American Study Program. Studied government and economic relationships between
the US and Latin America, especially with imports and exports of agricultural products.
Worked on compost and greenhouse farm for 3 weeks. Spoke in Spanish and attended

 Pruned blueberry plants, repaired irrigation hose and drip tubing, and completed other

 Assisted OSU grad student with research for blackberry cultivars by recording berry
weight and measuring firmness and brix.
 Operated compost spreader, mineral spreader, ground tiller, mower, water truck, berry
harvester, reefer truck, and field disk.

 Completed paperwork for food safety, packing information, and bill of ladings during
harvest.
 Informed workers of food safety rules and procedures and supervised their actions.
 Attended berry field days at OSU research station in Aurora. Created new contacts who
are researching berries and developing new cultivars. Learned about pest risks, better
crop management practices, and irrigation techniques. Sampled and observed different
berry cultivars.
