FOR A SUSTAINABLE BERRY In recent issues, the Town Crier has run semi-regular articles about sustainability topics. These will be available on the Berry Alliance website, so you have a one stop resource for tips and contact details for useful businesses and organizations. You’ll be able to link directly to all of those sites. At several recent committee meetings, issues relating to our local environment have been discussed, particularly pollution caused by the use of plastic bags. The Alliance is keen to encourage discussion about sustainability issues that are pertinent to our community. To that end, as a way of helping to reduce waste and encourage reuse, the Alliance has funded the purchase of bamboo fabric shopping bags and Keepcup reusable coffee cups, which we will be giving to residents of Berry. We’ll be dropping off bags for all the students at Berry Primary School. For everyone else, come and visit the Berry Alliance stall at this year’s Christmas parade. Bring your voucher, and swap it for a shopping bag or a coffee cup. We’ve got plenty to give away! If you can’t make it to the parade, don’t worry. If we have anything left over, we’ll let you know in the next issue of the Town Crier, and how you can redeem your voucher.
