June 27th 2014 June 27th 2014 We had Francesca as our ‘expert’ this week. She had returned from a holiday in Morocco, and she gave the children an insight into life in another country. We looked at maps of the area, methods of transport and which currency is used. The children were most amused by the goats up the tree! The snail information centre the children set up in the outside classroom, has been well used. During the recent showers, it became a hive of activity with children sheltering from the rain, and doing their observational drawings. Following on from that, we used the spiral patterns they observed on the snail shells, to make mobiles in the classroom. This is cross curricular, and covers patterns in maths, and physical development with cutting skills. The digging area has been cleared by our ‘gardeners’, ready for planting , and exploring!
