MMPT26 & MMPT27 LOUGHBOROUGH UNIVERSITY REGULATIONS FOR THE POSTGRADUATE DEGREE PROGRAMME IN ADVANCED MANUFACTURING ENGINEERING AND MANAGEMENT These Programme Regulations apply to the conduct of the programme in the 20112012 session and should be read in conjunction with University Regulation XXI and the relevant Module Specifications. These Programme Regulations may be subject to change from time to time. Notice of change will be given by the School responsible for the programme. 1. 2. STRUCTURE 1.1 The programme is the responsibility of the Wolfson School of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering, and leads to the award of MSc, Postgraduate Diploma (PGDip) or Postgraduate Certificate (PGCert). 1.2 The programme is based at Loughborough and is normally of twelve months’ duration full-time, or over a period of not more than eight years if taken parttime. The maximum period of part-time study for a Diploma is 5 years or 3 years for a Certificate. 1.3 The full-time programme comprises 120 credits of taught modules, and a 60 credit individual project. 1.4 The part-time programme comprises 120 credits of taught modules and a 60 credit individual project. PROJECTS 3.1 4. The taught modules are normally prerequisites for the Project module, which is an individual project under the direction of a supervisor nominated by the Programme Director. ASSESSMENT 4.1 Each module in the programme will be assessed and credit awarded in accordance with the levels of achievement specified in Regulation XXI Postgraduate Awards. 4.2 The eligibility of candidates on the Programme for the award of the Degree of Master, PGDip or PGCert, and for distinction in these awards, will be in accordance with Regulation XXI Postgraduate Awards. 4.3 Provision will be made in accordance with Regulation XXI Postgraduate Awards for candidates who have the right of re-examination to undergo reassessment in the University’s special assessment period.
