Regulations for postgraduate programmes in
INFRASTRUCTURE IN EMERGENCIES (Programme Code CVPT80)
when studied by DISTANCE LEARNING
These Programme Regulations should be read in conjunction with Regulation XXI and
the relevant Module Specifications. Notice of change will be given in subsequent
editions of these Regulations. Students should enquire as to the up-to-date position
when they need to know this.
1.
Structure
1.1
This programme leads to the award of the Postgraduate Certificate (PGCert) in
Infrastructure in Emergencies.
1.2
The programme is offered by distance learning.
1.3
Administrative responsibility for the programme rests with the Department of Civil and
Building Engineering. The modules are the responsibility of the Water, Engineering and
Development Centre (WEDC) in the Department of Civil and Building Engineering.
1.4
All modules will be assessed totally by coursework.

2.1
Contents
There are FOUR compulsory modules for the award of Postgraduate Certificate
(PGCert), with a total modular weight of 60 credits:

3.
Assessment and award
3.1
Each module in the programme will be assessed and credits awarded in accordance
with the levels of achievement specified in Regulation XXI.
3.2
The eligibility of candidates on the programme for the award of the Postgraduate
Certificate will be in accordance Regulation XXI.
3.3
For candidates who fail a module, reassessment by coursework shall be in accordance
with Regulation XXI, as determined by the Review Board.
