Dear Parents,
Calhoun Academy of the Arts will join the National Education
Association and thousands of schools nationwide in celebrating the 93rd
annual American Education Week during November 17-20, 2014.
We have a wide range of opportunities available for you to spend
time in our school next week. Please see the back of this letter for
opportunities specific to your child and their grade level.
Thursday, November 20th is Open House from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00
p.m. This time will allow you to visit in classrooms and related arts
classrooms and to learn how your child’s education is impacted by our
dedicated staff.
The activities taking place throughout this week will reinforce the
theme of American Education Week, “Great Public Schools: A Basic
Right and Our Responsibility”. This theme is a vision of the National
Education Association that represents a vision of calling upon all
Americans to do their part in making public school great for every child
so that they can grow and achieve in the 21st century.
I encourage you to participate in our school-wide Open House and
Art Show as well as other activities planned for this important week.
