We will just have more to discuss the week after break when we meet next. Individual Accomplishments: James Boddie – Worked on sections of the design document on software design and architecture on 3/13. He also set up the formatting for the design document and wrote the project statement. Geoffrey Miller – 3/13 Geoff wrote about testing specifications, testing/prototypes, and simulated use with VirtuTrace for our design document. Michael Potter – Couldn’t attend the group meeting 3/13, and did not work on the design document with the rest of the group. Colleen Riker – Colleen wrote the weekly report 3/13 and was responsible for writing about requirements (functional or otherwise) and a system analysis (memory constraints, C6, linux, C++) to be included in the design document Karl Akert – Karl wrote about specifications for input/output and hardware for the design document on 3/13. The specifications include things like memory limits, buttons, microphones, etc. Next Steps James Boddie – James is planning to create a wrapper around the Sphinx software, and then he will send it to the group, so we can work on getting a prototype together. He plans to have it done by Sunday 3/23, and it should take several hours. Geoffrey Miller – Geoff plans to work on the logger portion of the prototype of our project. He will also plan to work on this before 3/23, and we will all meet as a group to continue prototype work. Weekly Report March 9, 2014 CPRE/SE 491 Michael Potter – He will fix the errors that occurred during VirtuTrace install, and he will work on his portion of the prototype, which is the speech to text translator. Michael plans to work on this before 3/23 and meet with the group to work on the prototype. Colleen Riker – Colleen will finish fixing the errors in installing VirtuTrace and will start to work on the command interpreter portion of the prototype. This should take a few hours, and she should work on it before 3/23, so she can share her work with the group and work on the prototype with them. Karl Akert – Karl will work on the speech recognition interface portion of the project prototype, and he will start work on this before 3/23 and meet with the group to discuss his work and collaborate on the prototype. This should take several hours. Current Problems and Issues We cannot have our Sunday group meeting due to people leaving for Spring break, so we moved the meeting to 3/13 and worked on the design document together. Michael was unable to attend the meeting tonight, so he will have to make sure to connect with us and get his portions of the design document written. Michael and Colleen need to finish working out VirtuTrace errors, so the installs can complete.
