Joni, S.Pd., M.Pd The present classroom action research dealt with the improving reading comprehension through jigsaw technique at the eighth grade students of SMP N 2 Sukawati in academic year 2013/2014. Improving students’ reading comprehension through jigsaw technique was mainly intended to figure out whether jigsaw technique could improve students’ reading comprehension. The subject of the present study was the eighth grade students of SMP N 2 Sukawati in academic year 2013/2014 that consisted of 19 females and 15 males. The present classroom action research used the pre test and post test which consisted of descriptive and narrative text. Based on the result of the pre-test which was carried out in the pre-cycle, it pointed out that the subjects’ ability in reading comprehension was categorized almost averages. The present action research was then carried out through implementing jigsaw technique in three-planned cycles. The results of the pos- tests in each cycle showed that there was significant improvement concerning the subjects’ ability in reading comprehension in which it was improved from the lever of almost averages to very good. This research furthermore showed that there was changing learning behavior as the result of the positive responses concerning the technique applied in improving the subject reading comprehension. To sum up, the present classroom action research proved that jigsaw technique could improved reading comprehension at the eighth grade students’ of SMP N 2 Sukawati in academic year 2013/2014; in addition, the subject also responded positively the implementation of jigsaw technique.
