Book Choice (Title of Book)
________________________________________________
Choose a biography about a person that you would like to know
more about and has contributed to our society in a valuable way.
Book Project Due Dates:
1. Book must be chosen and shown to teacher by Monday,
February 27th.
2. Graphic Organizer and Rough Draft, written on notebook
paper, due by Tuesday, March 20th.
3. Final Draft, using given template and Bottle Buddy due by
Tuesday, April 10th.
Newspaper Book Report Contents:
Your report MUST follow the format below.
1. First section should include:
The title and author of the book and a brief
description about why you chose this person.
2. Second section should include:
Important facts about the person’s life from birth
until present or time of death. List any failures or
struggles that they faced during their lifetime and
include an illustration in the space provided.
3. Third section should include:
The person’s main accomplishment. What has this
person done to make him/her famous? What this
person’s accomplishment means to you. How has it
affected your life? How has it affected the world?
This section should also include an illustration.
4. Fourth section should include:
What part of this person’s life you admire the most
and the conclusion (an ending) to your report with an
illustration in the space provided.
5. You may put your Newspaper Book Report together
using the final template any way you would like. Be
creative!
Bottle Buddy Guidelines:
Use an empty 2 liter pop bottle. Fill the bottle (half-way)
with small rocks, sand, etc. to keep your “buddy” from falling
over.
Use a styrofoam ball, modeling clay, play dough, etc. for
your “buddy’s” head.
Now for the fun part! Dress up your “Bottle Buddy” so that
it looks like the person whose biography you read. For
example, if you read a book about Ken Griffey Jr., then your
“buddy” would be dressed up like a baseball player. Most
importantly—be creative and have fun!
