SWCA Environmental Consultants is expanding their team and looking for dynamic individuals who are following their passion in delivering the highest-quality project work. Our Houston, Texas office offers a unique work environment and is seeking Archaeological Field Technicians to conduct archaeological field work under the supervision of a Crew Chief (s) and or / Field Director. You should be able to work 10-12 hours per day, generally Mondays through Saturdays. Time over 40 work hours within a given work week will be paid at time and a half. Fieldwork is expected to start mid-June and last approximately 10-12 weeks. Be sure to note availability for the start date and the entire length of project. Conduct archaeological fieldwork including monitoring, survey, testing, and data recovery. Assist with mapping responsibilities in the field, including collection of GPS data using Trimble units. A Bachelor’s Degree in anthropology, archaeology, or a closely related field is required An accredited Field School Certification is required Six (6) months or more field experience with a range of field methodologies, including survey, testing, excavation, and monitoring is preferred Experience with a wide range of field methodologies, including archaeological survey, testing, excavation, methodology and monitoring is preferred Knowledge of ArcPad or TerraSync is a plus Current valid driver’s license is required Ability to travel to a location, walk and conduct fieldwork for long hours, sometimes in inclement weather, rugged terrain, often at high altitudes, and ability to carry equipment and supplies weighing up to 40 pounds is required SWCA Environmental Consultants is a growing employee-owned firm, providing a fullspectrum of environmental services.
