Our Salt Lake City office offers a unique work environment and conducts projects for clients a wide variety of market sectors. Your role will be to direct fieldwork and the work of other crew members under the supervision of a Project Manager and Principal Investigator. You should be able to work a varied schedule as required by project needs. Supervising and leading a crew while conducting archaeological monitoring, survey, testing, and data recovery. Communicating with Project Managers, Principal Investigators, and GIS staff through regular, scheduled field status reports. Participating in technical research and writing and data QA/QC for reporting efforts. Assisting with mapping responsibilities in the field, including collection of GPS data using Trimble units. Other responsibilities include: Must be able to thrive in our team-oriented approach to project execution, and maintain a strong commitment to customer service and to producing quality work Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Anthropology, Archaeology or a closely related field required A minimum of two (2) years of Cultural Resource Management field experience required; experience that includes archaeological survey, excavation, and monitoring preferred Eligibility for inclusion on a Utah, Nevada, and/or Wyoming BLM Cultural Resource Use Permit in the capacity of Crew Chief required Previous field supervisory experience or demonstrated potential for leadership during previous Cultural Resource Management fieldwork strongly preferred Completed accredited field school experience preferred First Aid and CPR certification required (training is provided by SWCA if not already certified) Ability to travel to a location, walk and conduct fieldwork for long hours, sometimes in inclement weather, rugged terrain, often at high altitudes, and ability to carry equipment and supplies weighing up to 40 pounds is required SWCA Environmental Consultants is a growing employee-owned firm, providing a fullspectrum of environmental services.
