Position Summary:
This position will work Monday-Friday, 2:00 a.m. – 8:30 a.m. and is responsible for assisting in
the coordination of mental health and residential services provided by the treatment team. The
position provides quality youth care and close intensive supervision of male adolescent clients in
a residential treatment setting during overnight and early morning hours. This position closely
monitors the client’s and the facility throughout the night. In addition, this position prepares
meals for the day and assists in maintaining food and household supplies. Position
responsibilities also involve recordkeeping, report writing, and data entry. This position requires
active participation as a member of a skills training team.
Education and Experience Required:
A. Bachelor’s degree OR equivalent education, experience and/or training which is defined, at a
minimum, as one year work experience AND two years education, training, or additional work
experience, all in the care and rehabilitation of youth

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

cleaning.
Other Requirements:
1. Driving is not required for this position. However, all employees who drive for work purposes
must complete the Agency’s driving approval process before driving for work. This applies
regardless of whether driving a personal or Agency vehicle and regardless of whether driving
with or without clients.

Standard First-Aid/CPR Certification
Food Handler’s Certification
Must complete Mandatory Abuse Reporting training within the first 30 days of
employment and annually there after.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Establish an environment conducive to treatment by providing intensive supervision and
safety for clients during client sleep and awake times.
A. Stays awake and alert from beginning to end of shift.
B. Provide sight and sound supervision of clients through out your shift, checking
individual clients every 15 minutes until midnight and at least every half-hour
thereafter, unless special circumstances require more frequent monitoring.
C. Supervises and assists clients in completing bedtime and morning routines in
accordance with daily schedule, program policies and supervision expectations.
D. Performs periodic security checks of the interior part of the facility.
E. Assures that facility is locked after hours, the security alarm is armed and outside
security lights are turned on.
2. Performs recordkeeping responsibilities in a timely manner.
A. Completes daily progress notes and incident reports by the end of each shift.
B. Quality assures client’s daily progress notes for completion and missing
documentation and signatures.
C. Reports missing progress notes and progress note errors to Program Supervisors each
week.
D. Tracks and inputs clients BRS service units into computer and provides weekly Tally
reports to the Program Director for review.
E. Files clients progress notes weekly progress notes.
F. Assures the security and order of progress notes in the file cabinet.
G. Completes USDA meal counts by the end of each shift.
H. Maintains ongoing inventory of house hold paper good and cleaning supplies and
provides documentation to the Program Director each month.
3. Teaches, monitors, and encourages clients’ personal hygiene and grooming.
4. Teaches chores and supervises their completion modeling cooperation and involvement
in accordance with sanitation and program guidelines.
A. Conducts morning checks of clients’ rooms ensuring that they meet program
expectations.
B. Assures that all bedroom windows and doors are locked prior to escorting clients to
breakfast.
5. Performs minor household, administrative, and maintenance tasks.
A. Monitors cleaning supplies to insure proper storage, use and availability.
B. Prepares and refills all cleaning solutions insuring correct chemical dilution and
informational labels.
6. Completes meal preparation for all meals throughout the week.
A. Prepares shopping list for weekend staff.
B. Inventories all meal supplies.
C. Places food bank orders in collaboration with supervisor.
D. Uploads a copy of all labels used in USDA meals each week.
7. Assists in the coordination of services provided by the skills training team.
A. Assures that each client receives the required amount of billable services daily and
weekly.
B. Conducts individual and group skills training on a planned or as-needed basis
congruent with the treatment plans and individual skills training objective for each
client.
C. Assures that client’s cultural, medical and educational needs are addressed.
D. Maintains current working knowledge of the client’s history, issues and treatment
plan.
8. Provides a nurturing environment and close intensive supervision and therapeutic
interventions for clients at the residential treatment facility.
A. Manages interactions and crisis situations occurring during shift constructively
ensuring the physical security and safety of facility residents.
B. Supports and monitors developmental learning sequence, expectations, privileges and
restrictions in accordance with program policies and procedures.
C. Provides security for and dispenses and documents prescribed medicine according to
program medication management policies.
D. Prepares and serves meals to clients in accordance with USDA standards and
regulations.
E. Provides emergency first aid as needed and maintains current standard first aid
certification.
F. Conducts periodic fire drills as needed and is proficient with program’s emergency
procedures.
G. Assures that client’s daily schedule is followed.
H. Models respectful communication with clients.
9. Oversees the operation of the residential treatment facility during assigned overnight shift
and performs house management as assigned by the Team Supervisor or Program
Director.
A. Assures the physical condition of the facility and completes maintenance requests and
damage reports to ensure compliance with Program, Agency, DHS licensing, Public
Health, OYA, state, and local fire marshall standards.
B. Assures that security of facility and is responsible for program issued keys.
10. Provides group work for residents.
A. Facilitates house meetings to plan activities, discuss house issues, review
accomplishments, and resolve conflicts in a manner which enhances development of a
positive peer culture.
B. Facilitates group skills training sessions assisting individual clients in skill
development in specific target areas of comprehensive treatment plan.
11. Maintains current client records in a timely manner in accordance with program
procedures and funding contract standards.
A. Writes progress notes in accordance with OAR standards for all individual and group
skills training.
B. Writes periodic incident reports as needed.
C. Completes daily staff communication and individual client logs at the end of each
shift.
12. Participates in program meetings and activities.
A. Attends all in-house trainings.
B. Participates in monthly staff meetings.
13. Models and encourages direct, respectful and professional communication among staff
members and facilities development of a positive staff support network.
A. Participates in the daily shift exchange debriefing at the beginning and end of each
shift.
14. Models cultural sensitivity and encourages diversity among staff members and clients,
facilitating a respectful living environment.
A. Makes cultural presentation as assigned by Team Supervisor.
B. Actively seeks out and participates in diversity training.
15. Meets with the Team Supervisor and participates in supervision.
16. Performs other program-related duties as assigned by the Team Supervisor, Program
Director, or Executive Director.
Working Conditions:
1. Exposure to communicable diseases which can encompass a variety of illnesses and
infections including the common cold and flu, tuberculosis, Hepatitis, infectious meningitis
and HIV.
2. Involves exposure to highly emotional adolescents and families who require extensive
supervision
3. May require flexibility in scheduling and occasional overtime, including weekend and
holidays.
