Qualifications:
Master’s Degree in Social Work, Education or related Field
Seven years of Administrative Experience
Bilingual Spanish/English Skills mandatory
The Assistant Director of Community Schools is responsible for the oversight and direct
supervision of all activities, programs and services implemented by a cohort of
community schools. He/She directly supervises the Community School Directors,
providing ongoing support, guidance and direction.
Responsibilities:











Assist in the hiring, management, and development of community school
directors and personnel.
Assures the functioning of all programs (health, dental, mental health, specially
services and projects) by directly supervising community school directors.
Plan and coordinate regular staff meetings, ongoing professional development and
orientations.
Contribute to planning the direction of the CAS’ Community Schools in
consultation with Community School leadership.
Develops, maintains and nurtures relationship with the school administration so as
to operationalize the partnership.
Ensures that programs are developed to increase educational opportunities and
social connections for both children and families.
Assures that hours of operations and supervision in the school fulfill the basic
principles of community schools; extending school day, week and year for
children and families.
Assist in the planning and direct program development within Community
Schools by conducting ongoing planning and assessments. Coordinate annual
budget preparation and monitor monthly and annual expenses in line with
approved budgets.
Represents the Children’s Aid Society Community Schools in community
meetings and events.
Participates in Technical Assistance activities.
Responsible for ensuring that all administrative and fiscal matters (hiring, payroll,
fees, petty cash, budget, etc.) are carried out.
The Assistant Director of Community Schools may be responsible for other components
such as overseeing Community Schools’ parental involvement efforts.
The Assistant Director of Community Schools is directly responsible to the Director of
Community Schools.
