THE APPENDIX
1. Read about your building from the chapter.
2. Find a color picture of the exterior and one of the interior. Find a close
up picture of the interior walls that show the important parts of an Gothic
Cathedral . Find a floor plan of your Cathedral.
3. Put them on a Word document. Label the document: Appendix and label
the images- Image 1 and Image 2, Image 3 and Image 4. Put the Title of
image, web site or book source, page number directly underneath the
image.
4. Put all of these images on a single sheet of paper and call it your
Appendix.

THE RESEARCH
1. Now write 2 page research about the building, exterior and interior.
Tell about the location, construction, special parts that make it a
mosque, who had it built, how long it took to build, the materials used
on the exterior and interior, and the techniques used. If there were
artists names, use them.
2. Focus most of the research on the interior decoration, the format of
the building and its history. Type everything. PUT IT IN YOUR OWN
WORDS. Use internal citation within the paper. (Jones,p.4). EVERY
PICTURE IN THE APPENDIX must have a reference in the body of the
paper ( see Image 1).
3. The research part of the paper should be approximately 2 -3 PAGES.
The pictures, of the exterior and interior go in the Appendix at the back
of the paper and before the Works Cited in MLA format.
4. You must use YOUR Gardner’s text and 2 other sources for this
paper. The information about the resources used must be at the back
of the paper in a section marked Works Cited.
5. Due in print format as your exam in January. We will determine the
date that it is due.
