EVENTS AND CONCERTS
The Summer term has been very busy for all children and staff.
Parents of Year 4 children were very proud after their performance of ‘Blast Off!’ in May. The children
thoroughly enjoyed the performance and we are very pleased with the excellent standard of their
performance.
Year 6 pupils visited the Life Education Bus that came into school on Tuesday 30th June. All children
found the sessions very useful.
Parents were invited to attend a number of musical performances for Woodwind, Strings and Steel Pans
and we would like to congratulate the children for their progress and achievements.
All children took part in events to celebrate St George’s Day. Assemblies were held for both KS1 and
KS2 children and lessons about the story of St George and the Dragon, George the Roman Soldier, the
flag of England and British Values took place throughout the day.
Our Year 6 Bookbusters Quiz team were victorious and won the Area Final. The team attended a
celebration event at Pelsall Library where they met the poet author Ian Billings. They were presented
with a signed book. Ian Billings came into school yesterday as our Book Busters prize for being the
overall Walsall winners. He undertook workshops with the three Y5 classes focusing on characters and
settings. Ian also told the children about his passion for writing and encouraged the children with their
creative writing. The children thoroughly enjoyed meeting Ian Billings.
