TUITION- NO REFUNDS Tuition is figured on a yearly basis, which includes 11 months of classes and holidays. RECITAL (ALL STUDENTS REQUIRED TO PARTICIPATE) Tentative dates for the 2014 recital are FRIDAY, JUNE 13th & SATURDAY, JUNE 14th, 2014 at the LSU Union Theater. Required CLASSES and Rehearsals will be HELD THROUGH JUNE 14th and all recital students must participate! (Excluding students in non-performance classes.) REQUIRED RECITAL FEES - NO REFUNDS COSTUME FEE: ONE-HALF OF THE COSTUME DEPOSIT IS DUE IN NOVEMBER AND THE REMAINING HALF IS DUE IN DECEMBER. THERE WILL BE NO REFUNDS OF COSTUME FEES IF STUDENT DROPS. COSTUME FEES ARE AS FOLLOWS: 1 HOUR CLASS: $120.00 (2 Costumes @ $60.00 each) 1 ½ HOUR CLASS: $210.00 (3 Costumes@ $70.00 each) 3 HOUR CLASS: $240.00 (3 Costumes @ $80.00 each) ADDITIONAL 1 H OUR CLASS: HIP-HOP (or) TAP (1 costume @ $80.00) VIDEO FEE: A $35.00 Video fee will be assessed per family in FEBRUARY: Each family will receive ONE video of their performance. Students dancing in two performances that would like a copy of an additional performance can order an additional video for $35.00. PRINTER FEE: All students are REQUIRED to have their picture in the recital program book. A $70.00 printing fee will be assessed per family in MARCH. (Siblings will appear in one picture in the book) Picture day will be the Saturday and Sunday May 3rd and 4th. RECITAL FEE: A $85.00 recital fee will be assessed in APRIL. This fee entitles each family to SIX performance tickets, a program book and each student will receive a trophy. ADDITIONAL FEES LATE FEE: Tuition is due on the First Day of each month. A $10 or 10% late fee (whichever is greater) will be added to accounts not paid by the 5th DAY of each month, regardless of the day of the week the fifth falls on. Studio mail and voicemail are checked on the fifth of every month (INCLUDING HOLIDAYS) and then late fees are added. NO REFUNDS or deductions are given if a child misses class for any reason. Statements are given out in class mid month as a courtesy reminder. WE NO LONGER ACCEPT CHECKS. Call the studio at (225) 767-4495 and pay with a debit or credit card. Complete and sign the monthly auto charge form to have your tuition automatically charged on the first of each month. A new form must be signed at the beginning of each year. CONVENTIONS/ COMPETITIONS Convention attendance is open to ALL students. Mrs. Tari chooses all competition/company members during the summer session. GENERAL INFORMATION VISITORS: Parents and visitors may watch from the observation area. NO PARENTS or VISITORS are allowed in the classrooms! IF YOU HAVE A SMALL CHILD WITH YOU IN THE LOBBY, PLEASE WATCH THEM AT ALL TIMES AND BRING THEM OUTSIDE IF THEY ARE SCREAMING. DROP OFFS and PICK UPS should be within 5-10 minutes of the beginning and end of class. ATTENDANCE: No refunds or deductions are given for missed classes. Good attendance is essential to the child’s progress. TARDINESS: Arriving late for class is disruptive to the class and it is unfair to the student. All students must arrive on time. CLASS PLACEMENT: Student’s class placement will be determined according to the age, ability, and maturity of the child. Final placement will be based on instructor’s decision. Students over the age of 12 will be placed in either an advanced performance or non performance class as determined by their ability on the first day of class. ALWAYS CONSULT WITH A TEACHER BEFORE ATTENDING OR ENROLLING IN A MORE ADVANCED CLASS. LOST and FOUND: Any items found at the studio are placed in the lost and found bin at the studio. Tari’s School of Dance is not responsible for any items, which are left, lost or stolen at or from the studio. Please return to the studio immediately to retrieve a forgotten item. Items in Lost and Found that are not picked-up by the 15th of each month will be donated to the Salvation Army. Label all shoes and clothing items. WITHDRAWAL Please notify the studio by written letter before the first of the month if you would like to withdraw or you will be responsible for tuition for the following month. Tuition and other fees will continue to be charged until a letter of withdrawal has been received. No refunds. The final date to Withdraw/Drop from recital classes is Thursday, December 19th, 2013. Please try to drop earlier than this as we have children on waiting lists for many classes and we do not enroll after this date. After this date, you will be responsible for paying tuition through the dance recital, and all fees associated with the recitals held June 13th & 14th, 2014. COURSES OFFERED Ballet: The basis for all dance types, contributes directly to the development of grace, poise, balance, core strength, and discipline. Tap: Dance form where rhythmic sounds are created by the feet to teach students rhythm, timing and balance. Jazz: Free-style dance combining ballet, tap and acrobatic movements. Hip-Hop: Street-style dance form using free movements. Develops student’s strength and endurance. Lyrical: A freestyle movement combining jazz and ballet using body gestures to create movement. Develops student’s strength and technical ability. DRESS CODE Please Note: Specific shoe colors/styles for the recital will be announced in January and should be purchased by April 1st for pictures. Any color/style shoe is acceptable in the classroom prior to this. DANCEWEAR: Dancewear may be purchased through the Tari Wear store located in Tari’s School of Dance. 3 AND 4 COMBO CLASS (Preschool): Any style leotard; tights; ballet shoes, tap shoes with tap shoe ties; dance bag; hair in ponytail or bun. 5 AND 6 COMBO CLASS: Any style leotard; jazz pants; crop tops; tights; ballet shoes, tap shoes with tap shoe ties; dance bag; hair in ponytail or bun. 7-11 AGE COMBO CLASSES: Any Style leotard; jazz pants, crop top; jazz shoes, tap shoes, pink split-sole ballet shoes; dance bag; hair in ponytail or bun. 12 & UP ADVANCED LEVELS: Any Style or color leotard/tights for ballet; crop top; jazz pants for jazz/lyrical accepted; jazz shoes, tap shoes, pink split-sole canvas ballet shoes; dance bag; hair in ponytail or bun. TAP: Tap shoes and comfortable clothing. HIP-HOP: Tennis Shoes or black or white hip-hop boots and comfortable loose clothing. Holiday Closures Thanksgiving (Monday, November 25th -Friday, November 29th) Christmas/New Year: (Closed Friday, December 20th, 2013 until Sunday, January 5th, 2014. Classes resume Monday, January 6th, 2014) Mardi Gras (Closed Monday, March 3rd, 2014 thru Friday, March 7th, 2014.
