469 Mowbray Road Lane Cove, NSW 2066 Ph: 02 9418 9995 Fax: 02 9418 9990 info@kidsworldtherapy.com.au Dear Parents, I look forward to meeting you and your children, and hope that we at Kids World OT will be able to help them develop to their fullest potential. I’m happy to provide you with a few details in view to clarifying financial support through Medicare initiatives. We are providers for the following care plans: Mental Health Care Plan (Code 2710 or 80135): Maximum of 10 sessions per calendar year (Occupational Therapy only). Autism Initiative (Code 135 or 82025/82020): For children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorders, a maximum of 20 sessions once per lifetime. Can be used for Occupational Therapy and/or Speech Therapy. Enhanced Primary Care Plans (Code 10958/10970): Maximum of 5 visits per calendar year. Can be used for Occupational Therapy and Speech Therapy, but must be made out to relevant therapy type. Each of these care plans entitles you to a partial rebate on the cost of your session, which can be claimed from a Medicare office. You must pay for your session in full at the clinic before you are able to claim this rebate. Rebate amounts vary depending on whether your family has reached your Medicare Safety Net. For further information, please contact the Medicare office via their website: www.medicareaustralia.gov.au or on 132 011. These care plans are available in consultation with your GP or paediatrician. Please be aware that your GP or Paediatrician will decide whether your child is eligible for any of the care plans above. We would be grateful for letters or referrals from your doctor to be addressed to your specific therapist if you have one confirmed, or to Kids World Occupational Therapist or Speech Therapist as relevant. Please also be aware that we may only assist you in claiming sessions held after your referral date; if you bring along your referral information to your initial session you will entitled to claim partial rebates from Medicare beginning immediately. FaHCSIA is a government initiative aimed at funding early intervention in children with special needs before the age of 6; in order to access this funding, your GP or paediatrician will be able to direct you to an Autism Advisor who will help you access and allocate this funding. The FaHCSIA: Helping Children with Autism program funds treatment for children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorders, and the FaHCSIA: Better Start program funds treatment for children diagnosed with Fragile X syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Down’s Syndrome or severe hearing and/or visual impairment. We are able to claim your session costs from the FaHCSIA office on your behalf once we have your Letter of Introduction (from your Autism Advisor). Please note that while we make every effort to track the number of sessions used by each child on each plan, we may not always be able to track this accurately, due to sessions used with other providers or sessions not claimed after being issued. We will always attempt to resolve any queries, however ultimately it is the responsibility of the family to monitor their session use and claiming on any care plan. If you have any further questions, please contact me on 9418 9995 or at janette@kidsworldtherapy.com.au. Thank you, Janette Wallman Practice Manager, Kids World Paediatric Therapy
