Why attend the LEAD seminar
Generalist attorneys, litigators, conveyancers and commercial drafters regularly face challenges
in applying the provisions of the Consumer Protection Act in their everyday business. In addition,
the Act keeps changing the legal landscape which means that attorneys need to keep up to date

Seminar content
The CPA impacts on a wide range of transactions such as
property, contracts, banking, consumer goods trade,
service industry work, dispute resolution strategies, client
relationships and more. The seminar focuses on
interpreting the CPA as it relates to attorneys’ fields of
practice; tricky issues which can occur, and applying the
remedies.
In addition, new case law, including practical issues such
as how to obtain a certificate from the Tribunal, is covered.


Presenter
Trudie Broekmann is a commercial
attorney with over 15 years’
experience. She focuses on the CPA
and Company Law. Trudie provides
training in both these two fields and is
quoted frequently in press reports as a
specialist on the CPA. She has a BA
LLB, a diploma in International Law
with distinction and a Masters in Tax.
Trudie has assisted in
 setting up the new National Consumer Commission and
Companies and Intellectual Property Commission;
 reviewing major local and overseas companies’
agreements in light of the introduction of the CPA.

Cancellation of workshop
Any person who has registered for a seminar and fails to
cancel (in writing) at least 48 hours prior to the seminar
starting, shall be held liable for the payment. All refunds
must be claimed in writing not more than 15 business days
after cancellation.
LEAD reserves the right to cancel a learning activity should
the number of delegates not justify the costs involved.
Registered delegates will be given reasonable notice of
cancellation.
