All committees except Public Relations have a representative in each Grand Lodge Area (Texas is
in Area 6)
Program information, manuals, rosters are available on elks.org
Most have a corresponding state (TESA) and Lodge committee for support and implementation
(Judiciary is Grand Lodge only)
Some programs such as Hoop Shoot, Drug Awareness, MVS Scholarships and Veterans
programs are supported by an ENF structure at the Grand Lodge level

Use major chair structure or Lodge Chair Officers to manage sub-committees, provide oversight
and support
Assign responsibilities for reports at Lodge meetings and newsletter articles
All committees turn funds raised into the Lodge Secretary and expenses are paid by voucher from
Lodge funds

Incorporated Lodges use a Board of Directors that perform the statutory duties of the Trustees
If the Board and Governing Body are the same 7 or 9 members (Chair Officers and Trustees), be
sure that business is separated between the two entities; break between meetings and keep
separate minutes

Grand Lodge has a direct correlation to the Local Lodge
State Association structure supports Elks programs and Lodges within its Association
Elks National Foundation funds flow to State through 501(c)3 entity

State Association budgets charitable expenses against funding from ENF endowment based on
contributions
Lodges can apply for multiple grants for various community involvement events
