NOTICE TO SKIERS AND PARENTS
Registration Deadline is December 12, 2014 3:30 PM
Skis and poles will be loaded in the trailer between 7:45 and 8:30 am in the
faculty parking lot located in the front of the school. Tie skis and poles together and
make sure your name is on all your equipment. Only skis and poles go in the trailer.
Many skis and bags look alike. Take extra care to be sure you pick up the right
equipment both on the mountain and at the school.
Take your boot bags, lunches, and such to Mrs. Carson’s room in the morning.
They will be stored there throughout the day. Don’t forget to pick them up before you
get on the bus. Please have your equipment, lunches, skis, or boards here in the
morning. Skis, boards, and poles are taken to the mountain early.
Buses will load in the side parking lot of the school by the King Fine Arts Center.
Ride the same bus to and from Pomerelle. Roll will be taken on each bus before you
leave and when you return. Please…... If your parents are skiing and want you to ride
home with them they need to present a signed permission slip to the chaperone of your
bus. No student is to leave the ski area for any reason, including injury, unless a
chaperone has been notified. No exceptions. You can understand the importance of
every student being accounted for.
Only registered students may ride the bus. When you arrive at Pomerelle; stay on
the bus until every person has a ski pass. No passes will be given to students that did not
ride the bus. We come as a group and leave as a group.
All students, without a season pass, are required to participate in the lessons
regardless of his or her level of skill. The program is designed to help everyone learn
and/or improve.
Dress in layers. (You can always take it off) The weather on the mountain is
often very different from the valley. By layering you can be comfortable regardless of
the weather. Protect your eyes with goggles or sunglasses.
Buses will return to the school at 10:15. Your ride must be waiting.
There will be one bus that will stop at 500 S 450 E on the way back. If you
plan to get off at this stop, you must ride the 500 S bus to the ski area. Your
ride must be waiting. The bus will be marked.
We are always in need of chaperones. If you are willing to chaperone the
entire 5 times we will reduce the cost for your student to $50. Chaperones
get a free pass to the mountain but have to pay for rentals if needed. Please
call if interested Mrs. Carson or Mrs. Shaw (878-6606)
