NOTICE TO SKIERS AND PARENTS Registration Deadline is December 12, 2014 3:30 PM Skis and poles will be loaded in the trailer between 7:45 and 8:30 am in the faculty parking lot located in the front of the school. Tie skis and poles together and make sure your name is on all your equipment. Only skis and poles go in the trailer. Many skis and bags look alike. Take extra care to be sure you pick up the right equipment both on the mountain and at the school. Take your boot bags, lunches, and such to Mrs. Carson’s room in the morning. They will be stored there throughout the day. Don’t forget to pick them up before you get on the bus. Please have your equipment, lunches, skis, or boards here in the morning. Skis, boards, and poles are taken to the mountain early. Buses will load in the side parking lot of the school by the King Fine Arts Center. Ride the same bus to and from Pomerelle. Roll will be taken on each bus before you leave and when you return. Please…... If your parents are skiing and want you to ride home with them they need to present a signed permission slip to the chaperone of your bus. No student is to leave the ski area for any reason, including injury, unless a chaperone has been notified. No exceptions. You can understand the importance of every student being accounted for. Only registered students may ride the bus. When you arrive at Pomerelle; stay on the bus until every person has a ski pass. No passes will be given to students that did not ride the bus. We come as a group and leave as a group. All students, without a season pass, are required to participate in the lessons regardless of his or her level of skill. The program is designed to help everyone learn and/or improve. Dress in layers. (You can always take it off) The weather on the mountain is often very different from the valley. By layering you can be comfortable regardless of the weather. Protect your eyes with goggles or sunglasses. Buses will return to the school at 10:15. Your ride must be waiting. There will be one bus that will stop at 500 S 450 E on the way back. If you plan to get off at this stop, you must ride the 500 S bus to the ski area. Your ride must be waiting. The bus will be marked. We are always in need of chaperones. If you are willing to chaperone the entire 5 times we will reduce the cost for your student to $50. Chaperones get a free pass to the mountain but have to pay for rentals if needed. The program is non-transferable/non-refundable. Students with season passes will pay $30 to pay for the bus trip to and from the mountain. PERMISSION SLIP – Ski Club 2015 I hereby give my permission for my child, my ward to participate in the Winter Interim program. . In granting this permission I hereby expressly waive any claim for liability against the Board of Education, including its employees, and representative, and release them from all liability in connection with this program. I assume full responsibility for any damage to persons or property caused by my child or ward. I further expressly agree that in the event of the health of my child or ward, or disciplinary action may make it necessary, at the discretion of the supervisor of the trip, my child or ward may be returned home at my expense. I understand that every attempt will be made that I will be personally notified if it becomes necessary for my child to be returned home or require health treatment. I further consent and will be responsible for any medical or dental treatment that may be advisable at the discretion of any physician or dentist.
