support and follow the expectations as outline by ENGAGE Online Academy.

______ ______ 1. We understand that attendance at my current school must be maintained until
notification of enrollment at ENGAGE Online Academy is received.
______ ______ 2. We understand that it is our responsibility to request help when needed and to maintain
consistent communication with our teachers.
______ ______ 3. Email is one of the main communication tools in online learning. We understand that it
is our responsibility to check our email daily.
______ ______ 4. We understand that most electronic communications may be kept and archived. Those
communications often support and sometimes serve as attendance records for online
courses.
______ ______ 5. Attendance is performance based. We understand that an online scholar should expect to
spend a minimum of one hour per course per day, five days per week. Scholars should
be logged in full time each week, though the time of day is flexible.
Therefore, we measure attendance based on the following:
1) Number of hours logged into coursework, 2) Successful completion of assignments ,3) Communication
A scholar is considered in violation of ENGAGE Attendance Policy if he/she:
1) Is not passing an online course, 2) Is logging into that class less than 5 hours a week.
______ ______ 6. We understand that the workload in an online course may exceed the workload in a
traditional in-building course.
______ ______ 7. We understand that online scholars are required to comply with October Count
procedures as directed.
______ ______ 8. We understand that scholars are required to participate in state-mandated testing
(CMAS for grades 3 - 12, Colorado ACT for grade 11, and CELA for 9-12 grade English
Language Learners).
______ ______ 9. We understand that inappropriate online communications or inappropriate use of online
tools may lead to disciplinary action and/or expulsion from the school. Online bullying,
harassment, and/or creating content as another person will be subject to appropriate
consequences.
______ ______ 10. We understand that online scholars are subject to the Weld County School District 6
discipline policies and procedures, including but not limited to truancy.

______ ______ 11. We understand that scholar progress will be reviewed and continued enrollment will be
based on evidence that the student is making adequate progress and attending
mandatory meetings (Orientation, assessments, conferences, etc). If not, he/she will
be required to attend ENGAGE Academy daily.
______ ______ 12. We understand it is our responsibility to secure the acceptance of credits being
transferred to another school district.
______ ______ 13. We understand that in order to receive a diploma from ENGAGE Online Academy, all
Weld County School District 6 graduation requirements must be met by the deadline
published by the district and school administrators.
