Sept.19th.
Please check your child's Monday folder for it.
.............................
Cartmell is doing a collaborative project with the public library. We have both
purchased several copies of the Kentucky Bluegrass Award (KBA) books. If a student
reads two books from either the picture book nominees (K-2) or the chapter book
nominees (3-5) they will be invited to a popcorn voting party at Cartmell at the end of
March to vote for their favorite book.
Students will only be able to check out only one KBA book at a time from
the Cartmell library.
There is a great big lighted display of the books in the Cartmell library.
The public library has done a display also.
My goal is that every student at Cartmell is able to vote and attend the popcorn voting
party!
Thanks,
Mrs. Hill

PANTHER PARTY!!!!!!!
Cartmell's 1st Panther Party (formerly the Reward Event)
will be held on Friday, September 30th. Students will be
able to participate in a wide variety of games
and activities, including a dance. Students may bring a
few extra dollars to purchase
pizza, popcorn, and drinks.
The Panther Parties will be used as a positive reward
system. Students will soon be earning SCHOLAR
DOLLARS daily for a variety of things (turning in
homework, being at school on time, no strikes, not
receiving a bus write-up, etc...). They will then be
required to spend their Scholar Dollars to participate in
activities at future Panther Parties.
The 1st Panther
Party that will require Scholar Dollars will be on October
31st.

Parents, remember to check your child's agenda book daily
for teacher notes, WALT
statements and homework assignments. Please help them
complete their reading logs.
Also, sign their homework if their teacher requires it.

Computers for Education will start on September
26th. This is a fundraising program.
Each child will
bring home a booklet and will be asked to write the
names and complete addresses of 10 people. The
company will then send a letter about magazines they are
selling to those addresses. Our school will receive money
for each returned booklet that is filled out
completely. Students will also receive a small prize
for returning their complete booklet.

the cafeteria to go along with the theme. If your child

Keep collecting those pull tabs!
Carroll Co. is making a difference in the lives of many families!! Once
again we met our goal and collected over 1 MILLION pull tabs from can
drinks! For the 2nd year straight, our district collected tabs and
delivered them to the Ronald McDonald House which helps provide
lodging and meals to families who have a loved one in the
hospital. We want to continue to participate in this wonderful program
and need your help. Please send in or drop off tabs to the school office
throughout the year. Let's make a difference and make it a record
breaking year!
