PRESS RELEASE E+E Elektronik at SENSOR+TEST 2013 Sensors and transmitters all from one source (Engerwitzdorf, 30.4.2013) At SENSOR+TEST 2013 from 14th – 16th May in Nuremberg, E+E Elektronik will be exhibiting as an expert and innovative partner for the measurement of relative humidity, moisture in oil, dewpoint, air velocity, CO2, flow and temperature. "Everything from one source" is the credo of the Austrian sensor specialist. This is because all E+E transmitters are based on sensor elements developed and produced in-house. This means that visitors to the E+E trade show stand in Hall 12, Stand no. 12-139 can expect not both the latest sensor innovations, and transmitters for the industrial and HVAC sectors. Sensors for humidity, CO2, oxygen and flow Calibrated SMD humidity sensor The HCT01 humidity and temperature sensor combines high quality thin-film sensor technology that has been proven over the long-term, with standardised SMD mounting. The qualifications in place for this element, based on the ISO/TS16949 standard, underlines the high quality of the sensor. The precalibrated capacitive humidity sensor makes time-consuming humidity calibration superfluous. The optional temperature measurement is carried out using a high-precision thin-film element - a must for precise dewpoint measurement. The special protective coating on the active sensor surface makes the element particularly insensitive to contamination. The capacitive sensor signal can be integrated costeffectively into an existing µP evaluation, permitting maximum choice in the choice of supplier. CO2 sensor for OEM applications The CO2 EE891 sensor module has been developed especially for production in large unit quantities and for OEM applications. The CO2 sensor is based on infrared technology (NDIR). Thanks to the patented E+E autocalibration process, the sensor is maintenance-free. This compensates for ageing effects and ensures excellent long-term stability. A digital interface and the minimal-sized design permit very easy integration into devices, e.g. for controlled living space ventilation or data loggers. New O2 sensor The oxygen content plays a critical role in many applications. For example, this means that in combustion processes, efficiency increases are achieved and the efficiency is optimised via the regulation of the oxygen concentration. The O 2 sensor developed by E+E Elektronik functions in accordance with the amperometric measuring principle. With a measurement range for the oxygen concentration from 0 to 100%, it is suitable for virtually any conceivable application. The compact design with integrated heater structure, linear limiting overload characteristic and response times in the seconds range are further outstanding features of the E+E oxygen sensor. After the first pilot projects in 2013, the start of series production is planned for the beginning of 2014. New flow sensor The new VTQ flow sensor from E+E Elektronik is based on the hot film anemometer principle. The familiar disadvantages, such as high sensitivity to contamination, low mechanical load capacity, minimal reproducibility of the characteristics, long response times, high angle-dependence or a limited measurement range, have been removed in developing this element. This is achieved via the combination of the tried and tested E+E thin-layer sensor, mounted onto extremely thin glass with the latest transfer moulding technology, complex simulations and many years of experience from E+E Elektronik in the field of flow calibration. The result is a robust, easy to assemble flow sensor element with an exceptionally low level of sensitivity to contamination, outstanding reproducibility of the sensor characteristics – a criterion for cost-effective single-point calibration – and a wide measurement range. The element is ideal both for measurements in the low flow range from 0 – 2 m/sec, and for air conditioning technology applications 1/4 for measurements up to 20 m/sec. The extremely fast response time, low angle-dependence and the compact design are further highlights of the new sensor element. Market launch is planned for the end of 2013. Transmitters for industrial applications E+E Elektronik recently expanded its range of industrial transmitters with the EE300Ex, a new, intrinsically safe humidity / temperature transmitter. The device conforms to the ATEX Directives for intrinsically safe equipment and can be mounted directly in explosion hazard areas in zones 0 / 20. The tried and tested E+E humidity sensor guarantees precise, long-term stability measurements up to 180°C and 300 bar pressure. Thanks to its easy-to-clean stainless steel housing, the EE300Ex is ideal for use in the pharmaceutical and chemicals industry. The company is also focussing heavily in the field of compressed air monitoring. The thermal flowmeters from E+E Elektronik record the mass flow of compressed air and industrial gases, independently of pressure and temperature. Different versions (EE771, EE772, EE776) permit the use for pipe diameters between DN15 and DN300, and an operating pressure of up to 40 bar. Simple and rapid mounting - with replaceable valves with no power interruptions at all necessary - facilitates installation into existing systems as well. For example, the consumption of compressed air, nitrogen, helium, CO2 or oxygen can be measured. A dewpoint sensor can also be installed in one and the same mounting valve. Moisture in oil transmitters from E+E Elektronik permit the precise determination and permanent online monitoring of the moisture content in lubrication and insulating oils of machines or transformers. This means that maintenance work can be carried out promptly and according to need. Expensive repairs and long standstill times are avoided. EE36 devices are certified in line with the Germanischer Lloyd guidelines (GL) and are thus suitable for use in the maritime sector. E+E moisture in oil meters are also available in a compact version or as mobile hand-held devices. Transmitters for HVAC / building technology For the HVAC sector in particular, E+E Elektronik offers a comprehensive product range for humidity/temperature, CO2 and air flow. This range is being expanded further with the new EE160 humidity / temperature transmitter. With protection rating IP65, the EE160 housing provides maximum possible protection against contamination or condensation. The transmitters are available in wall-mounted or duct-mounted designs and with current, voltage, BACnet or Modbus RTU outputs.
