As parents of Mary E. Phillips High
School, high expectations for your student’s behavior extend from the bus stop, on the bus, and during the bus ride to and from school. Following these expectations will ensure a successful school bus year.
1.
The school bus will pick your student up at the assigned bus stop only based
on the residence provided. The bus will deliver your student only to the assigned stop in the afternoon.
2.
If the student’s residence changes, you must notify Phillips High School.
Documentation is required for the new residence. Changes occur within 10 days.
3.
The bus route may change based on the addition or removal of students and bus stops. The driver will inform the students of these changes.
4.
The bus times posted are to serve as a guide providing the start time of each route and may be updated to include the actual stop times later during the year.
Phillips High School does not know
when a bus arrives at a specific stop.
5.
All buses are equipped with GPS for safety and monitoring.
6.
If your student does not ride the bus
for 3 consecutive days, the bus stop may be dropped. Please notify the drivers on extended absences.
7.
All students must remain on the bus until their assigned stops or their assigned school. Students getting off at other schools are subject to trespassing
citations.
8.
Buses will unload students at the end of the Phillips bus loop near the cafeteria. All students are expected to enter the
building and move to the cafeteria.
9.
Buses will pick students up along the bus loop after dismissal. Buses are not allowed to pick students up any place other than Phillips for their afternoon transportation.
10.
Bus changes will be posted at the entrance to the cafeteria before afternoon dismissal. It is the students’ responsibility to check the board for
any changes to their routes. Buses cannot be called back for students who missed their bus.
11.
Food and drink are not allowed on
WCPSS buses.
12.
Drivers will discuss individual bus rules with the student within the first 10 days of school or upon the addition to their route.
Students in the evening program are held to the same expectations as the day students.
Students in the evening program will be assigned transportation. These routes are considered mid-day runs and will deliver the students to school during the lunch break.
Buses will take the students home at the dismissal of the evening program.
Pick up and drop-off times will be provided to Evening School Personnel as they become available.
In the event your student has an incident on the bus requiring the driver to “writeup” the incident the following will occur:
1.
The incident will be investigated.
2.
Suspension from the bus may occur based on the investigation.
3.
Based on the severity of the incident, school disciplinary actions may occur.
4.
The student may be removed from WCPSS transportation.
