PRINCIPALS POINTS Nga mihi nui ki a koutou katoa – warm greetings to everyone Dear Parents/ caregivers, Our Principal, Margaret Civil, is currently on leave. We wish her well. Last week the school offered to arrange counselling services for any student that you feel needs support through the grieving process for Connor. Please be aware that the offer stands and is available through the rest of this term. Contact a staff member and we will see that the appropriate people are informed. We welcome all these new children to our school: Riki Holt, Juliet McDonald, Samuel Martelli, Max Crafar, Annabelle Shaw. New I pads are within arm’s reach and I know some very excited children are looking forward to working with them. We are currently setting up the systems to support the new technology, and will be ready in the next few weeks. Thanks: Firstly, a big thank you to all who supported the students and staff last week through a very unexpected and hard time. The wrapping around of care and thoughtful actions shown was amazing and much appreciated. Following on soon after was another successful Pet Day. The leadership team is well polished and very ably led by Hine, Kylie and Kyle. It all ran smoothly. We acknowledge and thank you for your drive and dedication. There is a small group of children participating in Group Day at Waikite School this Friday. We wish them well in their endeavours. Many thanks to everyone who works in a positive way to make Reporoa Primary a great place to work and learn. From our team –Margaret, Jill, Renee, Julia, Susannah, Esther, Kay, Julie & Julie, Maureen, Heather, Diane, Tina, Mary, Des, Rex & Maire. We thank everybody who took the time to meet or discuss over the phone. These were some the positives: transitioning from Kindy, attractive well-kept grounds, positive interactions across classes, great teachers, strong whanau group, bus roll procedures, B.O.T. Improvements can be made in these areas: these broadly fit under the area of communication. Better information for new parents; we are going back to a booklet form as well as using the website. The staff are currently reviewing and updating the booklet which will contain generalised information about the school with dedicated pages about some of the special features such as Reading Together, P.B.4.L., and various Sports Days. ALL library need Each class will have its own dedicated page, which will be updated yearly.book Within that page will to be returned to be such items as homework expectations for that group of children, reporting timetable of how school now for and when we will report to you. stocktake – thank you.
