Covering such a large area, with such a large population, means that frontline policing has become ever more reliant on the information, communications, and technology services provided and supported by the Directorate of Information. The command and control futures programme aims to replace the aging technology that currently assigns the Police resources to respond to 999 emergency calls and which also manages major London events such as the Notting Hill Carnival. The procurement involved the selection of a computer aided despatch (CAD) product, awarded to Northrup Grumman and their Command Point application, tailoring it to MPS operations and then transitioning it to live operations so there is no impact on the 999 service to the general public. Lockheed Martin is the system integrator and technology partner to the MPS, contracted for up to 17 years on an initial base contract of £85m over 9 years. Lockheed Martin is responsible for transforming the MPS Systems & Services through improved integration of contact handling, customer service Technology Insertion for mobile application and new CAD. Specific Job Description: The Deputy Programme Manager (DPM) is responsible for managing the programme management office (PMO). This includes risk, schedule, data and configuration management responsibilities. The DPM participates in the negotiation of contract and contract changes. Coordinates the preparation of proposals, business plans, proposal work statements and specifications, operating budgets and financial terms/conditions of the contract. Reports directly into the LM Programme Manager and is the primary contact for dayto-day programme activities, leading internal program review sessions regarding cost, schedule, and technical performance. Maintains programme management baseline, schedule milestones and monitors adherence to these plans and schedules, identifies programme problems and obtains solutions, such as allocation of resources or changing contractual specifications. Works directly with the Engineering and Sourcing leads to direct the work of employees assigned to the program from technical and sourcing areas. The DPM is a delegate for the LM Programme Manager and as such works with the customer identifying their strategic needs and assisting them in defining future work to be performed. Other responsibilities include: Building and maintaining customer and stakeholder relationships. Owning the partnering plan for the customer. Growing the account and sales pipeline. Leading governance and business rhythm activities. Act as the communication focal point for staff on the programme, ensuring regular and timely information sharing occurs.
