Events Intern The Patricia & Phillip Frost Art Museum Facility Rentals & Special Events Department 2 positions available The Events Intern will work with the Facility Rentals & Special Events Coordinator and support the museum’s events and facility rentals in all aspects of the event. The intern will also work with corporate sponsors for events as well as aid in securing sponsorships. Responsibilities: Assist coordinating, planning and scheduling events Assist in the set-up, break-down and overseeing of events Assist in coordinating deliveries, equipment, catering, staffing, etc. Inventorying & tracking supplies, equipment and donations Researching possible events sponsors Drafting letters and cold calling possible event sponsors Keeping files on event sponsors and tracking sponsorship deadlines Monitoring & adhering to event budget Educational Background: Junior or Senior preferred Skills Required: Excellent oral & written communication skills Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Excellent organizational skills Must have a professional demeanor and an excellent work ethic working within the organization as well as with other departments and organizations Ability to multi-task to meet shifting demands Must have calm & collected nature during the events Interest in the arts, events and working with diverse audiences Must be able to lift 25 pounds Departmental Preferences: Events or logistics background Past experience working with sponsors or development Compensation: This is an unpaid internship. Academic credit can be arranged. Schedule: Flexible schedule of 10-20 hours per week. Available to assist during museum events on weeknights and some weekends.
