Where has the time gone? We have had an incredible year of learning and growing as a school, each and every day. I would like to take this opportunity to tell all of you how much I have enjoyed my first year as principal at Pitt Meadows Elementary. The staff members here are amazing in so many ways, from the teachers to the clerical and custodians to our education assistants. I am indeed fortunate to be working with such a talented group of people. I would also like to extend a huge thank you to you, the parents. I have met so many wonderful families this past year and you have all been so welcoming and supportive. Most of all I have enjoyed working with your children. We have an incredible group of students here in our very large family that is Pitt Meadows Elementary, and although I do not yet know every name, I certainly know all of their smiling faces. My goal by the end of next year is to be able to put a name to every single student. I would also like to thank all of the parents who contributed to the Teacher Appreciation Luncheon on June 1. The staff loved it! There was an incredible array of food and treats, enough for the entire staff for two full days. The teachers were very grateful and happy to indulge. The teachers would like to show their appreciation for all that you as parent volunteers have done for their classes over the year. If you have volunteered in your child’s classroom this past year, you should receive a little card decorated by the students and a small token of our appreciation in the next week or so. All the best for a great wrap up to the school year. Stephanie Dand Principal Staff Appreciation A huge thank you to all of the people who helped to put on the lunch for the Teachers on June 1st. It was wonderful and the Teachers were very grateful. There have been many dishes left behind so if you are missing any dishes please check at the office. Thank you! Staff Changes at PME At this time of year we always have some changes to our staffing as teachers move on to new challenges for the next school year, and we are able to welcome new staff to our school for the fall. While not all changes have been finalized yet, at this time we are able to tell you what changes have been made. We are very sad to say goodbye at this time to Mme Walker, Mme Bowden, M. Geary, Mrs. Campbell, and Mrs. Boyes. We wish them all the best in their new assignments in other schools. In addition three of our EAs will be moving on – Mme Boyd, Miss Norton and Miss Gillis. We are very pleased that Mrs Belson will be working full time at our school next year, and we are also able to welcome back Mme Smith who worked at PME several years ago. There will be a few more changes before September and we will keep you informed. The completed list with grade assignments will be posted on the website in September. Warm weather clothing at PME With the warm weather students are of course wearing shorts and T-shirts to school. Please ensure that your student is dressed for school, and not for the beach – no super short shorts or spaghetti straps, or underwear showing in any way. Thank you for your support.
