The European Coatings SHOW and CONGRESS will welcome the international coatings industry in
Nuremberg, Germany.
Excitement and expectations are rising: who is going to receive the European Coatings AWARD for the best
congress paper, who is going to win the Innovation Slam in exhibition hall 4? Have you already made up
your mind which stands to visit, and which product presentations to attend?
With our weekly newsletter, we offer you some preparation for the show and congress. Besides a number of
company news, nanotechnology is in the focus of this week’s edition. One project is about a novel way to
disperse carbon nanotubes (CNTs), while another study deals with cellulose nanocrystals derived from
industrial byproducts that increase the strength of concrete.

Nanotechnology: chiral surfactants for dispersing carbon nanotubes
A novel way to disperse carbon nanotubes (CNTs) by using
amphiphilic chiral side-chain liquid crystalline oligomers
(ACSLCOs) as chiral surfactants, which possess dual affinity
for both CNTs and chiral liquid crystals (CLCs), is reported for
the first time.

has acquired distribution responsibilities for Michelman’s
