Roma bullocks hit 280c/kg
A total yarding of 1755 head of cattle were penned at Roma’s Prime Sale on
Thursday. Steers over 550kg sold to 280c/kg and averaged 269c/kg, while steers in
the 400-550kg earned to 277c/kg and averaged 249c/kg.
G & T Nielsen, Mt Weribone, Surat, sold Angus-cross steers to 280c/kg for 647kg to
return $1813/head.
S & H Wilkin, Everbroke, Roma, sold Charolais steers to 280c for 605kg to return
$1695.
L & S Laycock, Glenhutton, Injune, sold Charbray steers to 267c for 566kg to return
$1514.
Heifers over 450kg sold to 261c/kg and averaged 253c/kg, while heifers in the 350450kg sold to 256c/kg and averaged 236c/kg.
J & V Hartley sold Brahman heifers to 261c for 566kg to return $1478.
B & D Sutton, Tallawalla, Roma, sold Brahman-cross heifers to 256c for 494kg to
return $1266.
P & E Dearden, O’Rourkes, Roma, sold Santa-cross heifers to 239c for 487kg to
return $1166.
Cows over 500kg peaked at 249c/kg and averaged 230c/kg, while cows in the 400500kg class topped at 237c/kg and averaged 216c/kg. Cows 300-400kg sold to
215c/kg and averaged 182c/kg.
