Framework Agreement
between ........................................ and Universidad de
Valparaíso. Chile
(NAME OF THE UNIVERSITY), Higher Education Institution, represented by its
Chancellor, Mr ......................., headquartered in the city of (NAME OF THE CITY,
COUNTRY), by one side, and UNIVERSIDAD DE VALPARAÍSO Educational
Corporation under public law, created by Decree with Force of Law No. 6 of 1981,
represented by its Chancellor Mr. Aldo Salvador Valle Acevedo, residing at Blanco
Street, No. 951, Valparaiso, Chile and whose personality to represent the
Universidad de Valparaíso, it is stablished by the Education Supreme Decree No.
238 of 2012, on the other, agree to sign the following agreement.
Considering
1. That mission of Universidad de Valparaíso is to generate and disseminate
knowledge, cultivating science and technology, humanities and arts, through the
development of programs for undergraduate, graduate and research, providing skills
to train graduates, professionals and researchers that society requires, in a frame of
quality management and commitment to regional and national development.
The values that inspires Universidad de Valparaíso are participation, solidarity, equity,
freedom, pluralism, critical thinking and respect for diversity."

3. That University .................... and Universidad de Valparaiso, recognize the value
of cultural and educational exchanges that can be achieved between both institutions,
have agreed to conclude this Agreement framework for mutual cooperation, subject
to the following clauses:

Agree:
Article 1. Parties agree to implement actions tending to jointly developing academic
projects, science and culture, for mutual benefit, in compliance with their respective
objectives and institutional purposes.
Article 2. The parties commit themselves to articulate a collaborative system in order
to promote:






Strengthening of institutional relations.
Cooperation of their academic and managers.
Implementation of actions and development of programs for the
training and improvement of students and faculty.
Student and faculty mobility
Developing research, innovation and technology transfer.
Elaboration of proposals for strategic development of both institutions
and their local environments.
Article 3. The different fields of cooperation as well as terms, conditions and
procedures for executing each one of the projects to be implemented, will be fixed
through specific agreements between the parties which shall be annexed to this
agreement.
Article 4. Specifically work programs mentioned in the preceding clause will have to
describe accurately the tasks to develop, as well as all the issues and necessary
documents for define the fundamentals, goals and reaches of each of those
programs, which will be elaborate under the reciprocity principle of wrights and
obligations of both institutions.
Article 5. The results achieved through works done under this agreement, will be
common property of both universities and they may be published joint or separately
by the parties, indicating the origin and authorship.
Article 6. In each specific collaboration agreements as referred the third clause, shall
stipulate that the staff of each institution to be commissioned to carry out any action,
absolutely continue under the direction and dependence on the respective institution,
regardless of being providing their services outside facilities of the institution to which
they belong or at the facilities of the institution to which has been commissioned.

Article 7. All programs and activities under this Agreement are subject to the
availability of funds and approval of the representatives of both institutions, and do
not require institutions to make expenditures or provide funding for these activities.
Article 8. The term of this agreement shall be from the date it is completely
processed and approved the decree that formalizes the agreement and will be valid
for a period of four (4) years. Automatically be renewed for equal periods, and may
be rescinded before its expiry at the request of either party, that must communicate
its decision to the other, with advance notice of at least six (6) months .
As proof of consent are signed two copies of the same tenor and the same effect in
the city of Valparaiso, Chile
Article 8. The term of this agreement shall be from the date it is fully processed the
university approves decree and shall be effective for a term of four (4) years.
Automatically be renewed for the same period.
In any case, either party may terminate the agreement prior to its expiration, which
shall be communicated to the other party giving not less than six (6) months. Early
termination of Agreement, in no way affect the activities that are in the execution
phase.
Article 9. Any dispute between the parties regard to the implementation or application
of this agreement shall be settled by a direct agreement between them.
Article 10. This agreement is signed in Spanish and in________, both copies of
equal validity.
