Board Members In Attendance: Jo Ann Kissel – President; Valerie Manton - Vice President;

Welcome:

Jo Ann welcomed everyone and explained some of the changes that were going to be
voted on for the amended budget:
o Battle of the Books rewards and incentives $400
o Mobile Bidding for Wine Tasting $600
o 8th Grade graduation $500
o Shed for storage $1980
Treasure Report:



Karen presented the proposed budget.
Voted to amend the budget by removing or reducing items to allow for the new items Jo
Ann mentioned.
Amended budget passed.
Book Fair Profits:



We earned $6400 in Scholastic Dollars.
Purchased as many of the 2015 Battle of the Books as possible.
Gave each grade $500 to order through Scholastics.
Science Lab:

Everything requested has been put into the labs.
Library:

Volunteers are needed Thursday from 10-1.
HAMS App:



There is a new HAMS app that you can put on your smartphone.
Misty can help you if needed.
Password is bobcats.

Silent Auction:









People will bid on donated baskets
This year we will add mobile bidding that will send you a text alert when you have been
outbid.
You will also be able to pay by your phone if you have the app.
There will be wifi at the hotel.
Tickets are $25, $20 for PTSO members
There will be wine and light appetizers
Extreme Sports is offering free child care that night for the first 100 people that sign up.
We are raising money for 3 iPad carts that are approximately $6000-$7000. They each
hold 25 iPads and have a charging station.
Held at the Comfort Suites on Waters. The space is being donated by the Patel family.
Class Baskets:






Each class will come up with a theme and get donations from businesses and/or parents.
Use signupgenius.com to coordinate what goes in the basket and communicate with the
class parents.
The baskets must be completely sealed by using shrink wrap or clear wrap.
Baskets are due March 10th so they can be inventoried and added to the mobile bidding
site.
Basket ideas are on the sheet provided at the meeting. You can also google “Silent
Auction Basket Ideas” or look on Pinterest.
Once you decide on the basket, go to the Volunteer tab on the PTSO website and click on
the Auction link, enter grade, teacher and basket theme.
Movie Night:

Movie Night will be on Friday. If it rains it will be held in the cafeteria. There will be a
shuttle from Alonso. Bring chairs and blankets. Food will be sold.

Sunshade:


Estimate is for $6000 for 2 sunshades over the playground.
We have saved approximately $2500 through Shoparoo, Amazon, Box Tops, etc.
Yearbook:



Deadline to order is April 1st. Order online only.
Pictures can be submitted online also.
Consider purchasing a yearbook for a teacher.
Carline and walkers:


Unattended walkers that are k-2 is becoming a safety issue. Walkers must live within
walking distance and k-2 students must be walked with older siblings or an adult.
Illegal parkers are still an issue and will be ticketed in the future.
