TIS Auction 2013 Class Contributions
Thank you for giving your time to this year’s auction. The school auction is
TIS’ largest fundraiser and it takes a lot of people to make it happen.
Class contributions have always been a major attraction at the annual school
auction, generating a lot of excitement and encouraging guests to bid often
and bid high!

Important Dates
Before Oct 1st
• Room parents turn in names, email addresses and phone numbers of
project captains for the art project and class basket with Reba Akin,
rebaakin@gmail.com.
• Captains register Art and Basket ideas with Reba Akin,
rebaakin@gmail.com
Nov 1st –
• Art projects and baskets are due. You can drop them off the week of
Oct 28th – Nov 1st to Laura Hippensteel in the pre K building but no
later than Nov 1st.
• Baskets should include a class basket donor form. And be packaged,
as they will be shown at the auction Forms are on line at

• Art projects should include a class artwork donation form. Forms are
on line at http://intlschool.org/auction-volunteers/
Nov 23rd – Auction
Class Collaboration
• Each class creates an art project and a class basket to be sold at the
auction.
• If there are two classes of the same grade and track, these classes
work together to create one basket and one art project. See list below.

Note: Pre-K classes are only responsible for an art project and will work
alone.
Spanish Track:

Chinese Track:

Japanese Track:
• All Japanese classes will stand alone.
Class Art Projects

• Auction artwork pieces need an artwork donation form securely

• Please include photos of the process and final project. These are
best sent digitally. Please email to rebaakin.@gmail.com
Class Baskets
• Register your basket idea with by October 1st with Reba Akin
rebaakin@gmail.com
• Choose a theme. As the project lead, consider putting forward 2 or 3
ideas for the classes to vote on.
• The goal for the auction is to make money for the school. We would
like to sell all our auction items for more than it cost to make or buy
them. Plan for an arrangement and total dollar amount you think will
be enticing to potential buyers. A $250 value would be a reasonable
minimum value. Parents who choose to participate can contribute in
several ways: by soliciting donations, by making a donation of goods
themselves, or by contributing their time and expertise.
• The class item does not actually have to be contained in a basket.
Previous classes have used trunks, luggage or a flowerpot depending
on the theme.
• Auction baskets need a basket donation form securely attached

Please fill out the form completely, asking donors names and values
of donations. This helps at the end with receipts and thank you notes.
• Auction Baskets need a 1 page typed sheet of the items included in
the basket to be displayed at the auction.
• Auction baskets need a digital photo to include in our online
preview. The photo can be email to rebaakin@gmail.com
• Drop off is the week of Oct 28th- Nov 1 at the pre-K building. Bring
your item to Laura at the front desk. Please make sure everything is
secure in the packaging and the basket looks how you want it
displayed. Please remember to include Donor sheet and a 1 page
typed item list.
