First Line Support Agent (March 2013 – October 2013) Hewlett Packard Enterprise - Peterlee As part of a busy service desk I was responsible for being the first point of contact for users for both on a hardware and software issues. The role required me to think logically, clearly and push my problem solving skills to their limit. During my time at HP I have managed to communicate several new fixes and procedures to the desk, many of which I was commended by management for. ONLINE PORTFOLIO www.kristianwatson.co.uk REFERENCES Available on request After my first month I exceeded my expected performance targets; the quality of my call handling and case management averaged between 90-100% and I was 3 minutes higher on my average call handling time than expected. This proved that I excelled in communicating technical information effectively and when logging jobs via the service management software I was also able to demonstrate my technical writing skills. The role allowed me gain experience using Active Directory, Microsoft Server 2008, Safecom Administrator, Citrix and Secure VPN and in May 2013 was awarded employee of the month. Barman and Door Supervisor (August 2009 – December 2013) Quinns Inn - Spennymoor As an employee of a small family run public house I have been given many responsibilities and have gained enough trust to work shifts alone, secure the premises, take deliveries and to have access to the safe. I have also had much experience dealing with difficult customers as a result of inebriation, which I feel strengthens my communication and people skills. I have initiated various ICT projects within the pub over the past 4 years, which include placing the business on a range of social networking websites. Most prominently in September 2013 I was contracted to create a professional website for the business which is currently under construction. As of December 2013 I decided to leave the Quinns Inn to focus solely on IT related employment, I felt that I had gone as far as I could go within the company and wanted to concentrate my time more on personal and professional development in the IT sector. Systems Administrator, Work Placement (January 2011 – May 2011) Andel IWS - Bishop Auckland During my placement I was responsible for maintaining a small office of computers and ICT equipment. I also led a project which established weaknesses in the current ICT systems and recommended a range of hardware and software solutions. A full cost analysis was provided and results presented management. I feel this demonstrates my ability to use analytical, communication and presenting skills and also gave me a greater sense of responsibility.
