3-3-1 Still Life Drawing
Objective is to learn how to draw what you see, hone your technical skills, and develop your creativity.
Essential Questions: How do I translate a simple subject into art? What materials can I use to make artwork? How
can I look at another artist’s work and use it as influence in my own work?
Formative Lessons:





Review Pinterest pins and other artists found in various places such as the internet and from books.
Artists and sites to review: Leonardo Da Vinci, Rembrandt van Rin, http://www.saatchionline.com,
Pinterest, Steve Penley
Complete a variety of drawings your sketchbook to practice seeing. Refresh your styles, skills, and
perspective.
Refresh: Learning to “see” when you draw and learning how to view lighting, translating both concepts
onto paper.
Media demos such as acrylic, watercolor, oil pastel, and colored pencil techniques.
Summative Lesson: Complete 3 works of art using 3 different media. Change the perspective of the one item or
change the item so that each work can be viewed separately. The final artwork will be mounted together as one full
piece.
