Pat Hanford, Director of Development Pat visited the leadership team meeting to provide an overview of understanding development in the COEHS and give an update on her foundation projects. In future months, Pat would like to look at giving histories of foundation funded projects within COEHS departments and their impacts on the college. Albert Colom, Associate VP, Enrollment There have been changes in enrollment services and now there is a strong focus on profiles to climb on the rankings of the SAT of the FTIC, or first time in college freshman class. Enrollment services will be developing a new model which will be more strategic in enrollment management, working closer with the deans, departments and chairs to create enrollment models that will be applied and sustained over a long period of time with a specific set of results/goals. One of Dr. Colom’s goals is to re-organize enrollment services to leverage what they have more effectively to help each department within the colleges. It was suggested that departments could share their strategic plans with Dr. Colom. Out of State tuition – as Dr. Colom develops the out of state market, the President’s office is looking to have tuition waiver capability for leveraging when recruiting out of state. Transfer students - gateway program allowing students to go to the nearby three-four partnered state colleges and have pathways to allow connection to UNF directly. Diversity – Dr. Colom will meet with COEHS personally. Develop strategies with each department – COEHS has its own identity within UNF. Create opportunities towards access during the summer and spring to allow students with the right support. UNF must have a component to access affordability. Historical enrollment data – enrollment funnel. Enrollment services are looking at data and will segregate COEHS by program and department. Dr. Colom will work independently and differentially with COEHS departments and respect strategic natures. This conversation will be an agenda item for the September 10 meeting. Strategic Planning – MHL Department strategic plans are due to the dean’s office November 1. Condense and only submit three to the Dean’s office. Make the determination as how you want to divide your unit (e.g. by program). Look at your unit as a whole and make determinations of priorities for the year. Marianne Jaffe will enter the strategic plans into TRACDAT. Megan will be meeting with Judy Miller tomorrow, August 28. Megan then will set up a meeting with program leaders to determine assessment needs in programs and possible ways to ease the process of reporting. Distance Learning Coaches (JJK) Money was allocated to each department for the use of distance learning coaches - COEHS has received $16,800. If we would like to take a look at distance learning courses that have the capacity to be taught in large numbers. To qualify enrollment has to increase by 50% with a total enrollment of at least 50. CBTL course tags – (JJK) Dr. Lupi and Dr. Kane met with Mark Falbo – The Center for Community Based Learning is putting tags on all courses in a unit that warrants a tag. To make easier for department chairs, Dr. Kane will send an excel spreadsheet to each department. Look at the designations, and make a determination as to what best fits your courses. In banner students will be able to see the courses expectations based on community based learning. Dr. Kane will forward the information from the CBTL office. This information is needed back by September 15. If any question about the tag, describe the tag in the note section and they will make the determination.
