As a fresh college graduate, I intend on pursuing a career in the chemical field. I would love to be involved with the testing of
products or any other type of chemical analysis. I am in search of any position that would allow me to work in a hospital
laboratory.

LABORATORY EXPERIENCE
Physical Chemistry
 Semesters Taken: 2
 Experience with solution calorimetry using a solution calorimeter to study heat capacity
 Tested the actual content of medicine in aspirin tablets and compared different brands
 Created small in-lab oxygen bombs with the use of a bomb calorimeter
 Participated in glass blowing and learned the different techniques
Organic Chemistry
 Semesters Taken: 2 of basic organic, and 1 of advanced organic
 Created a tube of benzocaine with use of sunlight through a series of lab periods
 Completed a lab where the synthesis of isopentyl acetate or banana oil was observed
 Studied the electromagnetic and visible spectrum in the laboratory
 Learned about gas chromatography through experimentation
Biochemistry
 Worked on a buffering project using a dialysis technique
 Separated proteins by electrophoresis
 Used affinity chromatography to study binding proteins
Microbiology
 Participated in a self-culturing project to study the appearance of coliforms
 Used different bacterium such as E. coli in order to study the growth patterns
 Worked on a semester long project that involved growing an unknown bacteria in agar and determination of that
bacteria
Health Promotions
 Semesters Taken: 1 while studying abroad in Dublin, Ireland for 3 months
 Participated in research by studying Irish health characteristics
 Compiled a research paper on smoking tobacco and the effects on the Irish death rate
 Presented on American health statistics versus Irish health statistics
From Country to City
 Studied agrarianism by looking at different projects that were started by local farmers
 Presented on how agrarianism can be applied to city life
 Researched rooftop gardening in big cities to talk about effectiveness
