The meeting was started by Jenn Cha welcoming everyone to the meeting.



Pizza Lunch – $23102.64





School allotment - $13689.15

Classroom allotment – $745.81

Total expenditure – $14434.96

Balance to date $ 13628.29

Pending deposits –

$945.15 for Mother’s Day Roses

$1812.10 for Pizza lunch from 15th May

$3000 for theatrical presentations is not being spent and will remain in SCC funds

$2400 remaining 3 pizza lunches (estimate 3 x $800)


Wish list items previously approved - $13587.76

Allowing for aprroximately $2000 carry over leaves approximately $5300 left to spend.

Requested Items

$1200 for two additional ELMO’s

$200 for plants/bulbs for the new garden

$50 per class (31) towards end of year party = $1550

Health & Safety
A fire drill was carried out today with the remaining ones happening over the next couple of weeks.
Visitors to school are reminded to go directly to the office upon arrival to sign in.
Volunteer of Distinction
Nominations are being accepted for this year’s Volunteer of Distinction award.
Math and Art Night
Our Math committee hosted a very well attended Da Vinci Math Night in April.
The night had a Math and Art focus and was a huge success.
The Math committee has applied for a $1000 grant from the Ministry of education for next year
The Kindergarten Spring Concert was held in April, followed by a concert for Intermediate grades
Both events were well attended
Class Placement
Work will begin in June on placements of Students for next year.
Teachers and administration work together to place students in the class most suitable for the
student
Requests outlining special circumstances for class placement should be made in writing before
June 1st
Staff Update
After 7 years as Carruthers Creek Public School Principal, Jacqui Steer will be retiring at the end of
June.
Tony Rizzutto, current Principal at William Dunbar P.S., will replace her in September.
Year in Review
The administration thanked the SCC for their contribution to school in the last year and paid tribute
to the group of volunteers who turn out each week to provide pizza lunches at school.



18th – Grade 8 Graduation trip

23rd – Grade 8 Graduation

24th – Kindergarten graduation

25th – Last Day of school

26th – PA Day


Closing Comments


A date for the Ad-hoc meeting is still to be arranged
72 students attended to area track and field event with Mr. Rimar and Ms A. Taylor. All 72 students
behaved impeccably. 22 of the students will be attending the Durham Regional finals in June




