We operate over 200 facilities in England, Scotland and Wales and employ
around 2,500 employees. We recycle 1.2 million tonnes of waste each year.

Role Purpose
This person will report to the Groups Business Manager Soils and will be within
one of Our Soils ‘Sales and Compliance Teams’ mainly covering the Middle &
North of the UK. The job is based in Doncaster.

The Technical Manager (Compliance) will provide a key role ensuring full
compliance with Current & Future Legislation, Regulations & Guidance. In
particular in regard to the newly introduced Guidance Document LFT1 of The
Landfill Tax ( Qualifying Fines) Order 2015.
The role provides an opportunity for candidates to enter into this exciting
business area as the group seeks to extract more value from its soils business.
Key Responsibilities

Assess , Manage & Administer low rate tax inputs to FCC Landfills.

Monitor Changes in Regulation and Guidance and work with other Group
functions to implement changes.

Ensure that the Group operates in full compliance with regulation and
guidance.

Assist in developing Services to secure profitable soils business including
hazardous soils, non hazardous soils and soils for restoration.

Complete the technical assessment & appraisal of waste streams all soils
and other hazardous and difficult waste enquiries in a timely and efficient
manner.

Develop relationships with customers and other key stakeholders.

Develop solutions to utilise other waste products for use in restoration
soils.

Liaise with Operational Teams to deliver required tonnages of soils.

Other duties as required by the company from time to time.
Qualifications and Experience (preferred)

Degree educated with a proven track record in the UK Waste
Management Industry.

Strong Understanding of soils Chemistry& Analytical Background.

Ability to assess & interpret Chemical Analysis, Soil& Site investigation
Reports.

Experience in Managing soils in achieving demanding work requirements
and ensuring customer needs are met.

Evidence of the ability to identify and implement change programmes that
have a positive impact on operational and business requirements.
Personal Qualities

Technical Understanding of all acceptance Criteria for soils and waste
streams dealt with by FCC.

Commercial in Outlook.

Customer facing –capable of developing excellent relationships with
customers and key stakeholders.

Comprehensive understanding of regulations and Guidance.

Organised and methodical.

IT literate –competent in Word, Power point skills, MS Excel and MS
project.

Full Driving Licence.
Other Information
Location – Based in Doncaster with national travel.
